Spring Fever. Yup, I've got it. Bad, I think! Doesn't help that I've had three days off, because of Spring Break. I'm painting, knitting, composing, obsessing about guys, going on long and thoughtful walks through snow-covered bogs, ice-skating every chance I get, singing with friends, baking, watching documentaries and writing letters. And yet still there's this unfulfilled, unfinished something in my gut, that longs for MORE: more sunshine, more harmonies, more spice, more touch. I thought I was really crazy 'til I found Mr. Twain's quote, below.

It's spring fever. You don't know what it is you want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so. ~Mark Twain

I hope you all can find some peace- but also some new energy and inspiration!- this Spring.

I've been learning a few new songs a month and singing them at open mics. It was REALLY hard, at the beginning, to sit on stage by myself and try to entertain. Tonight I was looking for lyrics to the next song I want to learn, Let the Mystery Be, by Iris Dement, and came across the following sentence in an Anchorage Press (of all papers!) article from 2002. Robert Meyerowitz wrote, "Some music – and painting and drawing, and poetry and prose – can be simple, sincere and absolute." Whoa. That's what I'm aiming for.

If someone wrote an article like this about me someday, I'd die happy.
